Dounreay Industry Event - Part 1

NDA is hosting a two day event to allow prospective Parent Body Organisation (PBO) bidders for the Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd (DSRL) to understand local stakeholder perspectives and provide an update on the emerging contracting and procurement strategies for the competition.

The first day was held in Caithness on 5 February 2010.

The day provided prospective PBO bidders with the opportunity to meet with local stakeholder groups. Delegates heard about

  • the potential socio-economic impacts of the colsure of the Dounreay site on the local area and opportunities for their mitigation
  • supply chain and workforce capabilities;
  • regeneration work already underway; and
  • prospects for partnership working.
