The creation of the NDA and the focus we are bringing to decommissioning and clean-up will deliver many opportunities. However, the decommissioning and clean-up of our sites may also have an adverse social and economic impact on communities, particularly as job numbers decline. Our role is to:

• consider the socio-economic impacts of our activities
• givie encouragement and support
• make grants / loans

We identified four geographical priority areas with the potential of being most significantly impacted by our work:

 West Cumbria Socio-Economic Priority Area Plan (150kb)
 Caithness and North Sutherland Socio-Economic Priority Area Plan (150kb)
 Anglesey and Meirionnydd Socio-Economic Priority Area Plan (150kb)
 The Gretna-Lockerbie-Annan corridor in Dumfries and Galloway Socio-Economic Priority Area Plan (150kb)

Priority Area Plans provide an increased level of specific detail relevant to the requirements of each Priority Area.

Our Socio-Economic Panel sits to consider requests for funding which are below £100,000.
